This is a small piece I made using a beer bottle in the center, with four plastic bottles taped two to each side, and two aluminum cans attached to both ends, and two more positioned in front of , and behind the piece.

I have been debating what I should do for my performance piece; one idea I had was to take a roll of toilet paper and unroll it completely, then arrange it into the shape of a tree, showing the paper's origin. The other idea was to take the concept of basic natural movement and portray it as paint over a board or canvas. Either of these will be shown next week. The CD is almost done except for a few bugs, which will be fixed and presented as soon as these are resolved, and for my individual work, I will make a small sculpture with soda cans and water bottles attached to a glass bottle in the center. Creative use of recycled materials.

Censorship piece essay

This piece displays the act that free speech has become such an explosive topic in the eyes of many artists. The public is represented by the three young monks who resort to a "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" response to the violent blasts in the background. The background is present merely to provide contrast to the forceful impact of the blasts. Free speech has to be one of the most controversial Constitutional Amendments ever created. Countless people and organizations have gotten in trouble because of ideas or opinions stated that stepped beyond appropriate boundaries, but the argument that is always made is the fact that no one can change the Amendment, unless another was made that caused the "free speech" amendment to become null and void, plus all Americans are entitled to liberty, among other things. As a result, the public tends to shut out these discrepancies and accept whatever they believe is right. They will usually ignore the cacophonous events that take place as reactions to such a sensitive subject. No one wants to be the one who stands in between liberal demands for freedom to say and do whatever they wish, and the right to exercise discretion and censorship.

I have two ideas for fairly elaborate inventions; one is a system of tubes containing small brushes and water jets that can be activated to clear freeways and highways of dust and debris during dry spells. It would be controlled only by the city's water department, and can easily be shut off during rainstorms to prevent flooding. The entire process takes about 20 minutes to entirely wash one lane. The brushes are small enough and the water is emitted in small streams, and the tubes are half-submerged underground, so as not to disturb any vehicles.

The next idea is very basic: a device that can internally separate up to 15 lbs. of laundry in three compartments. This takes the hassle out of separating difficult colors, or if you have absolutely no time to do laundry and want to lessen the effort, then you can load the device, and with the help of a color sensitive scanner, it will accurately sort the laundry. It has a small light inside, to help it function properly. Once it's done, you may then open the compartment you wish to access (all three of them are labeled "whites", "light color" and "dark color"), and you will have saved at least 10 minutes of work just sorting laundry.

My 100 project is composed of 100 pennies organized into the shape of a bus. Underneath is a piece of poster board with different bus schedules cut and glued on in collage format. It's meant to represent the fact that urban transit systems have cheapened the travel experience and have become costly (hence the fact that the bus is literally composed of money).
